BECOME A TEACHER? No Way... It is my Destiny..

When I was a little kid, I have always dreamt of becoming an engineer. As I grew older, it changed. Later experiences made me shift to another course of life. I wanted to become a journalist, then a doctor then a lawyer.

When I went to College in Manila, I enrolled in IT. Never thought about it but call it destiny. As soon as i earned my diploma, I thought IT was never really for me. So instead of employing in an IT firm, I decided to go back to my hometown.

I tried enjoying my life after graduation. For three months, life was a routine of sleep, eat, drink, play, movie and shopping. But, hey, I have never been that "bum" in my life, so I easily got tired doing nothing.

In june of 1998, I decided to work in Legazpi. With hardwork and diligence, from an entry position of Encoder, I was chosen to be the acting manager of the Distribution Office in the company. But the pay struck me like lightning. It was not enough.

In November, I was back to school taking my masters in Business Administration. I enjoyed it not only because I was the youngest among my classmates and that I was cute so I was treated like their youngest brother, but because I finally found my realm -- business management. I graduated on top of my class with a comprehensive examination grade of 1.40.

Two years later, May of 2000, I was invited by a stranger to be a Dean of IT in the newest school in Sorsogon, my province. I declined immediately. Dean? Academe? Instructor? No way! Three days after, with the encouragement from my father who believed in me that much, I set my foot for the first time in that school.

February 2008, present time, I am still here in the same school but under new management -- a changed man compared to what I was at 7, at 12, at 16, at 20 and at 23.

Become a teacher? No way! But this was what I thought so. Yes, WAS what I thought so. Mind you, being a teacher may not be rewarding financially, but it is worth it. Very noble especially that I took it to my heart because indeed, the academe is my Destiny... May God bless me.
